Halfway.
Officially less than 20 weeks to go (allegedly)!
December was all things Christmas as usual. We took Lexi to see A Christmas Carol musical and then we drove up to LA to see the American Contemporary Ballet's Nutcracker! It was her first time in LA and it was magical for all of us.
We also ran a Christmas themed 5k with Tony!
It was a wonderful winter. Apart from all the holiday activities, we celebrated our one year (California) wedding by eating our wedding cake, went to a New Pornographers concert, and saw the baby grow.
We ended the year babysitting for our friends. It was a fun evening and Lexi helped make dinner!
In January, things slowed down a little. We celebrated the Epiphany with a yummy dinner and explored Catalina Island with Lexi.
It rained a lot while we were on the island, but it finally cleared up for us to walk around before we left. We found a pet cemetery and a beautiful view!
And of course winter in southern California means hiking for us.
At the end of January, Zach and I drove to Phoenix to see my dear friend Kelsey and her boyfriend, Owen. I always love catching up with her. Can't believe we've been friends for nearly 10 years already!
We hiked, enjoyed some Phoenix nightlife, and said goodbye too soon.
Back at home, it was time to celebrate my friend Kori and her second baby!
Finally February. We took Lexi to Gordon Ramsay's newest restaurant.
And then we spent a wekeend in Joshua Tree. Trying to take advantage of our time together where it's just the three of us before we get tied down a little bit with the new addition.
Then...surprise...we moved! We spent the last weekend of February transporting all our things into a new (rental) home with the help of family.
It's been a couple weeks since that day and we are now officially moved in and settling well. We got a lot of furniture and gym equipment now!
I love the new house. Most importantly we are now working on a nursery! Maybe my next post will include more photos of the finalized home :)
Next adventure: we are traveling to Europe! Both an exciting and anxious time for us!
Until then...
