Halfway.

Officially less than 20 weeks to go (allegedly)!

Lexi wanted to wear our matching pajamas to A Christmas Carol :P

December was all things Christmas as usual. We took Lexi to see A Christmas Carol musical and then we drove up to LA to see the American Contemporary Ballet's Nutcracker! It was her first time in LA and it was magical for all of us.

At The Nutcracker. With treats for the kids!

We also ran a Christmas themed 5k with Tony!

It was a wonderful winter. Apart from all the holiday activities, we celebrated our one year (California) wedding by eating our wedding cake, went to a New Pornographers concert, and saw the baby grow.

Little duck at 8 weeks.
Cake from 2021.
At Grand Central Market enjoying some mac and CHEESE.
Then we got fancy at Sugarfish.
And explored the Broad before heading home.
Christmas ready!

We ended the year babysitting for our friends. It was a fun evening and Lexi helped make dinner!

Happy babies!

In January, things slowed down a little. We celebrated the Epiphany with a yummy dinner and explored Catalina Island with Lexi.

Happy Epiphany.
Saw the baby grow a bit more! Looking more like a human.
Tracked down some eggs.
On the way to Catalina!
Presenting Catalina :D
Crazy boat hair, haha.

It rained a lot while we were on the island, but it finally cleared up for us to walk around before we left. We found a pet cemetery and a beautiful view!

And of course winter in southern California means hiking for us.

At the end of January, Zach and I drove to Phoenix to see my dear friend Kelsey and her boyfriend, Owen. I always love catching up with her. Can't believe we've been friends for nearly 10 years already!

We hiked, enjoyed some Phoenix nightlife, and said goodbye too soon.

Alvin Ailey forever!
Friends :)

Back at home, it was time to celebrate my friend Kori and her second baby!

Power Ranger love.

Finally February. We took Lexi to Gordon Ramsay's newest restaurant.

The best mac and cheese, apparently.

And then we spent a wekeend in Joshua Tree. Trying to take advantage of our time together where it's just the three of us before we get tied down a little bit with the new addition.

Lexi met the mayor of Pioneertown.
She loved climbing the jumbo rocks.
Met up with Joshua.
Of course we hiked.
Got up early to watch the sunrise. Notice the pink house!
Lexi's recap of the weekend inf Joshua Tree.
And stargazing at the Airbnb.

Then...surprise...we moved! We spent the last weekend of February transporting all our things into a new (rental) home with the help of family.

First night with the keys. No furniture but we brought cookies!

It's been a couple weeks since that day and we are now officially moved in and settling well. We got a lot of furniture and gym equipment now!

Going to work before we had set up everything, haha.

I love the new house. Most importantly we are now working on a nursery! Maybe my next post will include more photos of the finalized home :)

Next adventure: we are traveling to Europe! Both an exciting and anxious time for us!

Until then...
