Cozy.

Following the wedding, we jumped immediately into the Christmas holiday! This year we spent the morning unwrapping gifts with Zach's family and the evening eating dinner with the Olsons. It was a very successful season!

"Zachloe Christmas Morning" complete with the nutcrackers!

Prior to December 25th, Zach and I decided to celebrate early with Lexi. When she woke up, we told her the nutcrackers had gotten confused and thought today was Christmas!

A bookshelf and lots of books for Christmas :)
Lexi's Christmas wish list
  • A parrot
  • A fish
  • A house to live in North Carolina
  • To be on the nice list

We celebrated New Year's and Erin & Lauren's birthday.

And visited Erin & Aaron in Big Bear! There was even snow (but it was basically ice at that point).

For the most part, we have stayed home. It's been really nice to not have so much going on after the hectic schedule of the wedding and Christmas. Plus I haven't had much money left to even do anything, haha.

Zach and I have recently taken up running together on our lunch break. It's a great exercise to get some endorphins and manage stress! Although we don't have much to converse about because we are still in "work mode," I love having some scheduled "quality time."

Enjoying the cold! A real treat since we hardly get it!

We had a couple days where it was normal 80 degree weather, but some weeks, it actually feels like winter. I love it! I wish it would persist for longer.

We still don't have many plans for the next few weeks, but I can tell I am starting to finally be up for more of a break from our routine. My friend, Alyssa is visiting from New Zealand so I'm hoping to catch her next month before she has to travel back. We're planning a spring NC trip and still have a pending honeymoon to get to....

But for now, we will be here complete with a balanced breakfast :P

Some other honorable mentions from the past couple months:

We went bowling with Lexi!
I ran the Surf City Half for the third year in a row! Got a PR too!

Until our next adventures...staying cozy for now :)
